Reset. Refocus. Rise. — A Transformational Session with the Protea Hotel, Kampala Team

by Dorcus Magoba / Wednesday, 14 May 2025 / Published in TLP

We recently had the honor of facilitating a powerful development session with the Protea Hotel, Kampala Team, focused not on operational metrics, but on personal growth, purpose, and wellbeing.

In a fast-paced industry like hospitality, it’s easy to get caught in the cycle of work–home–repeat. This session created space to step back, reflect, and ask the bigger questions:

  • Am I growing, or just going through the motions?
  • What purpose drives me—personally and professionally?
  • What small changes can reignite energy and balance in my life?

Through self-reflection activities, and honest conversations, we explored how investing in individual capacity strengthens teams and drives better business outcomes. We’re excited to see that several team members have already taken the first steps toward investing in their own growth.

As the HR Manager shared, “Everyone’s been talking about the training — even those who missed it heard so much from their teammates, they genuinely felt like they missed out!” She also mentioned that some staff have already started using platforms like Alison.com to continue learning and growing on their own.

We’re deeply grateful to the Protea team for their openness, leadership, and commitment to developing people beyond the job description.

Because when people grow, performance follows.
